Just testing this blog entry for now and wondering if this set up will be transferable onto yessera.org. Or will users be redirected to ethiotopia.com for interactive experience? Either way would be fine. We could keep strictly yessera matters there, and make ethiotopia a place of brainstorming  about general  and creative possibilities.

Gearing up for the Project in Debre Birhan

Posted Saturday, 09 August 2008 19:14
On August 2, the Austin group decided to raise funds for the Debre Birhan students to buy a machine for starting up their business. At least four people have volunteered to raise $600 each towards a total of $6000 that is needed for the Debre Birhan students to begin their business. We are hoping for more people to be part of this process.

Ethiopia's future is in its youth

Ethiopia's future is in its youth. Young Ethiopian Self Sufficiency Enhancing Re–education Association (Yessera) is devoted to the future of Ethiopia in our efforts to cultivate our youth and provide them with the skills necessary to embark on a better life.

Yessera brings together the youth of Ethiopia from all four corners. We work to alleviate poverty in an innovative way — by teaching Ethiopia’s youth to be self–sustaining. We provide vocational schooling and promote enterprise with the goal of equipping our youth with valuable skills that can be shared among their communities.

Through a network of vibrant, productive and strategically located enterprises and individuals, Yessera works to achieve its goal of becoming a hub of creativity for Ethiopian development. In an effort to achieve this goal, we are currently working to build the Yessera Training Center.

Join us in our effort to enrich the lives of Ethiopians by teaching self-sufficiency and enterprise. We invite you to share with us your thoughts and ideas on how we can continue to bring our dreams to fruition. Your participation and generous financial support brings our vision to life.
